FAQ
No, attendance at every training session is not mandatory in the preschool and elementary school gym groups. Of course, higher attendance always leads to greater progress.
Yes, when your child is part of one of our competition groups, they commit to attending all training sessions, except in exceptional circumstances (exams, illness, etc.).
No, normally we follow the elementary school vacation schedule.
We do train on the first weekend of each vacation.
For example: Before the Easter vacation, we train for the last time during the weekend of March 30 and 31, and the next training sessions are in the week of April 15.
For competitive gymnasts, extra training sessions may be scheduled during the holidays if the coaches deem this necessary.
Yes, as soon as your child is registered and the membership fee has been paid, your child is insured for accidents during training sessions, events, and competitions in which your child participates as part of the club.
If your child sustains an injury, always report this to the coach.
Our coaches will adjust the training program if necessary.
No, cheerleading was originally a sport practiced mainly by men. Nowadays, girls are in the majority, but the sport is practiced by both girls and boys.
There are different team compositions:
All-girl: exclusively girls
Small Coed: boys and girls mixed, with a maximum of 5 boys
Large Coed: boys and girls mixed, with a maximum of 18 boys
P.S. Did you know that no fewer than 4 presidents of the United States of America were cheerleaders in their younger years?
Information about membership fees can be found at the bottom of the ' Register ' page.
In order to resign from the club, the member concerned must notify the club secretary of his/her resignation in writing by email - Admin@DragonsCheerAthletics.be. Resignation takes effect at the end of the season.
The membership fee for the current season remains payable in full or acquired upon resignation.
The option to pay in installments does not exempt the member from paying the remaining installments that are still unpaid at the time of termination of membership.
Each member of the club must create an account on the website. (Under the athlete's name!)
What can you find here:
- Calendar with the activities of the competitive groups.
- Option to purchase mandatory competition equipment (uniform, club t-shirts, cheer shoes, etc.)
- Athlete competition tickets
- Important documents
- Marketplace with the option to buy or sell second-hand equipment.
- ...
Requirements and costs not included in the membership fee are as follows:
Uniform Rental
The competition uniform is now available for rent, keeping costs down for our members while allowing everyone to shine in a top-quality outfit. The uniform exudes the same class as those of the major cheer brands—stylish, stunning, and impressive both on and off the mat!
Cheer shoes
Shoes can be resold second-hand to members via the website.
These only need to be repurchased when they become too small or worn out (so not necessarily an annual cost).
Training outfit
Registration and other costs related to competitions.
The registration fees for competitions are paid by the athletes themselves. These are communicated at the beginning of the season. The Club books the tickets as early as possible so that early bird discounts apply. Athletes must repay these via the website by the specified deadlines.
These additional costs can be drastically reduced during the year depending on the proceeds from our fundraisers (cookie sales and spaghetti weekend), which in turn depend entirely on the athletes' efforts during these events.
